Fleet Fuel Cost Calculator — Florida
Use this interactive calculator to estimate how much your fleet can save each month and year
by switching from retail pump fueling to on-site bulk fuel delivery with Exigo Fuels.
Enter your fleet size, monthly miles, average MPG, and current fuel price to see an immediate
breakdown of fuel cost savings plus recovered driver time.
The calculator assumes conservative defaults: $0.35 per gallon savings versus Florida retail
prices (typical for 5,000+ gallon accounts) and $25 per vehicle per month in recovered
driver time (avoided trips to gas stations). For an exact quote based on your ZIP code,
fuel type mix, and delivery schedule, request the detailed PDF report below or call
Exigo Fuels at (305) 900-6725.
How the calculator works
- Enter your number of vehicles, primary fuel type, monthly miles per vehicle, average MPG, and current retail price per gallon.
- The tool computes monthly and annual fuel consumption, retail spend, estimated Exigo cost, and savings breakdown.
- Request a personalized PDF report with your exact numbers and a custom quote.
How This Calculator Works — Inputs Explained
Each input maps to a specific variable in the cost model. Number of vehicles sets the
multiplier for recovered driver time (the estimated $25-per-vehicle-per-month figure
represents avoided retail-station detours and waiting time). Primary fuel type is used to
pick a reasonable default spread between retail and wholesale pricing — the ULSD on-road
diesel and regular gasoline markets behave differently, and dyed off-road diesel usually has
the largest per-gallon delta versus retail. Monthly miles per vehicle and average miles per
gallon combine to produce gallons consumed per vehicle per month, which scales linearly with
fleet size to get monthly and annual gallonage. Current retail price per gallon is the
baseline we compare our estimated delivered cost against; for a conservative comparison, we
recommend using a recent AAA Florida average or your own most-recent card-program average
rather than a single station's price on a given day.
What the Savings Numbers Mean
The headline monthly and annual savings figures are the sum of two components: the per-gallon
fuel spread (retail price minus estimated Exigo delivered price, multiplied by gallons
consumed) and the recovered driver time (vehicles multiplied by the monthly time-value
default). Typical savings ranges for fleets that fit on-site delivery well run between
$0.25 and $0.50 per gallon on the fuel component alone, with recovered time adding several
hundred dollars per month for mid-sized fleets. Larger bulk accounts (5,000 gallons per
month and up) often see spreads above $0.50 once volume-based pricing kicks in. Small fleets
under ten vehicles sometimes see smaller spreads because the minimum-delivery and
stop-frequency economics work against them — in those cases, the calculator is telling you
something useful: retail or card-program fueling may actually still be the better fit until
your volume grows.
When the Calculator Is — and Is Not — Accurate
This calculator produces a directionally useful estimate, not a binding quote. It is most
accurate for fleets with relatively consistent monthly mileage, a single primary fuel type,
and on-site tank capacity or recurring delivery access. It is less accurate for operations
with highly variable duty cycles (seasonal construction, event-driven usage), mixed fuel
profiles (gasoline fleet plus diesel equipment), or facilities that would need tank
installation before switching from retail. For those cases, a live quote from our dispatch
team accounts for volume commitments, delivery cadence, tank logistics, and current regional
fuel market conditions — all of which move the number beyond what a five-input calculator
can reflect. Use the calculator to decide whether the conversation is worth having; use the
live quote to decide whether to switch. For contracted and high-volume accounts, we can also
structure fixed-spread pricing, which decouples your per-gallon cost from short-term retail
volatility — see our bulk fuel delivery and
fleet fueling pages for more context.
